Make scenario monitoring: alerts when a scenario fails or stops running
Put an HTTP module at the end of a Make scenario and one on its error handler. LastPing alerts you when the scenario fails, and when it stops running at all.
Your assistant can do this for you
Monitor my Make scenario with LastPing
On this page
What this catches
- A scenario that stopped running: deactivated after errors, out of operations, or switched off: no ping in the window opens an incident.
- A failed module: the error handler posts the message to /fail and it lands on the incident.
- Recovery: the next successful run closes the incident on its own.
Set it up
Create a monitor that matches the scenario's schedule
Use the scenario's schedule and a grace window, or a silence floor for a scenario started by a webhook or an instant trigger. Copy the ping URL.
Add an HTTP module at the end
Add the HTTP app's Make a request module as the last module: method GET, URL your ping URL.
Module: HTTP, Make a request
Method: GET
URL: https://ping.lastping.dev/<uuid>
Report failures from an error handler
Right-click the module that can fail, add an error handler route, and put a second HTTP module on it that posts to /fail, with the module's error message mapped into the body. End the route with the directive you already use.
Module: HTTP, Make a request
Method: POST
URL: https://ping.lastping.dev/<uuid>/fail
Body: raw, text/plain, the error message
Good to know
Make was called Integromat until 2022; the same modules apply. Alerts go to email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, a signed webhook, or a push to your phone through ntfy or Pushover.
Questions people ask
-
How do I get alerted when a Make scenario stops running?
Add an HTTP Make a request module at the end of the scenario that calls your LastPing ping URL, and give the monitor the scenario's schedule. If the ping does not arrive within the grace window, LastPing opens an incident and alerts you.
-
How do I send Make errors to LastPing?
Add an error handler route to the module that can fail, with an HTTP module that posts the error message to your monitor's /fail URL. The message is stored on the incident.

Is it free?
