Terms of Use

Plain-language terms for using LastPing. Last updated: 2026-07-17.

Plain-language summary — written to be readable. LastPing is a small, independently operated service. Questions: hello@lastping.dev.

Who these terms apply to

By creating an account or using the LastPing service (at app.lastping.dev and ping.lastping.dev) you agree to these terms. If you are using LastPing on behalf of an organisation, you accept these terms on its behalf.

What LastPing is

LastPing is a dead-man's-switch monitoring service for cron jobs, CI/CD pipelines, AI agents, and HTTP endpoints. You configure monitors; your jobs and pipelines check in; LastPing alerts you when they go silent.

LastPing is free for individuals. A paid team tier may be introduced in the future for teams and organisations. If a paid tier launches, existing individual accounts will receive advance notice of any changes that affect them.

Acceptable use

You may use LastPing to monitor your own infrastructure, jobs, pipelines, and agents. You may not:

  • Abuse or overload the ingest endpoints. The ping endpoints (ping.lastping.dev) are designed for check-in signals from scheduled or event-driven processes — not for high-frequency polling, stress testing, or synthetic load. If your use pattern materially exceeds what a monitoring use case requires, we may rate-limit or suspend the account.
  • Use LastPing to monitor infrastructure you do not own or have explicit permission to monitor.
  • Submit malicious, deceptive, or illegal content as failure-detail bodies or monitor names.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or SSRF-guards on alert delivery.
  • Resell or white-label the service without permission. Contact us to discuss commercial arrangements.

Service provided as-is

LastPing is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind. Monitoring is a best-effort service — network partitions, cloud outages, and software bugs can cause missed alerts. Do not rely on LastPing as your only safeguard for life-safety or mission-critical systems.

We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and to monitor LastPing with LastPing (see lastping.dev/self-monitored/), but we do not offer an uptime SLA for the free tier.

Termination

You may stop using LastPing and request account deletion at any time by emailing hello@lastping.dev. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use terms above, with notice where practical.

Changes to these terms

Material changes will be announced via the email address on your account with at least 14 days notice before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (country). Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Georgia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
